“Pravasi” is the trading name of Shaunak Nitin Sabnis, an individual operating the website at pravasi.app. For the purposes of the GDPR, Shaunak Nitin Sabnis is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@pravasi.app or by post at: President Kennedylaan 270-3, 1079 NX Amsterdam, Netherlands. Pravasi is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel) under KvK number 42073139.
You can use every calculator on Pravasi without an account and without giving us any personal information. We only collect personal data in the situations below.
If you create an account. Pravasi uses passwordless sign-in: we email you a one-time code (OTP) to log in, so we store your email addressand the date your account was created. We never see or store a password. The sign-in codes themselves are delivered to your inbox by our email provider, Resend (see “Third parties who process data for us” below).
Your profile answers. After signing in, you may be asked three optional questions — your planned move timeline, your profession, and your current salary band in India. These help us understand who uses Pravasi. You can skip them, and you can edit or clear them anytime from your account page.
Saved scenarios. If you save a salary calculation, we store the inputs you entered (such as gross salary and the name you gave the scenario) so you can return to it later. These are visible only to you.
If you send an enquiry through our chat assistant. Pravasi has a chat assistant that can help you send us an enquiry. If you choose to submit one, we collect the name and email addressyou provide, together with the answers you selected (such as the type of help you need, your city, and your timeline), so that we can follow up with you. Using the assistant is entirely optional, and your answers are only sent to us when you click “Send to Pravasi”.
Technical and usage data.Like most websites, we collect limited technical information to keep the site working and to understand how it is used. This is described in the “Analytics and error monitoring” and “Cookies” sections below.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
We use a small number of third-party services to keep Pravasi running and to see how it is used:
Essential cookies. When you sign in, Supabase (our authentication provider) sets a cookie that keeps you logged in. The site cannot provide a signed-in experience without it, so it is not subject to consent.
Analytics cookies.Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics set cookies only if you accept them via our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time — see “Your choices” below.
Local storage. Pravasi also stores small amounts of data in your browser itself — for example, a counter of how many calculations an anonymous visitor has run, and your cookie-banner choice. This stays on your device and is not sent to us as personal data.
The chat assistant. Our on-page chat assistant sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It holds your answers only in memory while the chat is open, and sends them to us only if you choose to submit an enquiry. Because it uses no cookies or similar tracking, it is not subject to cookie consent.
We rely on a few service providers (“processors”) to operate Pravasi. Each only handles data on our instructions:
Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, it is protected by appropriate safeguards:
We maintain Data Processing Agreements with all processors who handle personal data on our behalf. Details of applicable transfer mechanisms are available on request.
Our remittance page links to Wise, a money-transfer service. This is an affiliate link: if you open a Wise account through it, Pravasi may earn a referral commission at no extra cost to you. The link is labelled as an affiliate link on the remittance page. Clicking it takes you to Wise’s own website, where Wise’s privacy policy applies. Pravasi does not receive your Wise account details.
We keep your account, profile answers, and saved scenarios until you delete them or delete your account. Deleting your account from the account page permanently removes your saved scenarios, your profile row, and your sign-in identity from our systems.
Error logs held by Sentry are retained in accordance with Sentry’s standard retention policy (currently up to 90 days). Aggregate analytics data held by Vercel and Microsoft Clarity is retained by those providers in accordance with their own policies. Rate-limiting data held by Upstash is deleted automatically after a short window (typically within minutes of creation).
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time. You can exercise most of these directly:
For anything else, email hello@pravasi.app. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
You can change or withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer, which re-opens the cookie banner. Clearing your browser’s site data for Pravasi also resets the choice. You can use Pravasi without an account, in which case we hold no personal data about you at all.
Pravasi is intended for adults planning a move abroad and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
We may update this policy as Pravasi evolves. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
